Man arrested in deadly pedestrian collision, Waterbury police say

Kashawn Taylor, 28, turned himself in Wednesday morning on five charges, including operating while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said.

The deadly collision happened on Dec. 27, shortly before 3 a.m. Police said 32-year-old Jayvon Muse was walking on West Main Street when a white Jeep Patriot struck him, seriously injuring him.

Taylor’s other charges are second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle; possession of narcotics; failure to drive to the right and reckless driving, police said.
