Heavy security and road closures are in place this morning in Hartford around the state Capitol amid fear of riots or attacks by supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump.
The stepped-up security was sparked by an FBI warning that state Capitols could face attack in the wake of the Jan. 6 assault on the nation’s Capitol in Washington D.C. by seditionists who continue to believe Trump won the November 2020 presidential election.
While there have been no specific threats against the Connecticut Capitol in Hartford, state officials have deployed a heavy presence. Roads surrounding the Capitol building ware being closed to the public starting at 10 a.
