The water that tested positive for Legionella at a Rocky Hill nursing home is “site specific to the facility,” the Metropolitan District (MDC) said Thursday evening.
“There are no water quality concerns with MDC’s water supply and the MDC potable water is not the source of the Legionella presently under investigation by the Connecticut Department of Public Health at Apple Rehab in Rocky Hill,” the water company said.
Apple Rehab, a home to 64 elderly residents, provided contaminated water to residents and failed to properly address the issue, which led to the state Department of Public Health issuing an emergency order Wednesday.
