MANCHESTER — Parents of a disabled student filed a lawsuit against the Manchester board of education and its contracted bus company, contending negligence after another student reportedly raped the girl twice on a school bus.
The assaults occurred in 2019, when the intellectually disabled fifth-grader attended Bennet Academy, the suit says. The Courant is not naming the girl or her parents because she is the alleged victim of a sexual assault.
A male student with a history of behavior issues was assigned to the same bus for special needs students, the suit says. On April 12, the boy raped the girl twice, according to the complaint.
