A last gasp of winter brought many residents across the northern half of Connecticut a coating — even up to several inches — of wet snow early Friday during what will be only a brief digression from seasonably warm temperatures earlier this week and the start of next.
Much of the state was expected to see less than an inch of total snow, but enough in some places for a small amount to stick to the roads and perhaps as much as 2 to 5 inches of accumulation in the highest elevations across the northern edge of the state, according to the National Weather Service.
