A call came in Monday about a distressed kitty, who reportedly was “stuck under a house” on Hill Street, police said. When Mitch Gibbs, assistant animal control officer, arrived, he saw that the kitten was under a deck that sits on the ground, 10-15 feet away from the opening.

It took Gibbs about an hour and a half to remove the kitten, which is 2-3 weeks old, police said. He used a fishing net with an extendable pole.
