James Bouknight suspended for three games

After a September incident led to legal charges and a court date for UConn guard James Bouknight, head coach Dan Hurley has decided to hand the freshman a three-game suspension.

As a result, Bouknight will miss the season opener against Sacred Heart, next Wednesday’s game against St. Joseph’s, and the following Sunday’s big bout with Florida. All three of those contests will be taking place at Gampel Pavilion.

“After deliberating on it and understanding all the relevant information and dealing extensively with James, it feels like it’s appropriate,” head coach Dan Hurley said in a statement from the school.
