A home health aide was charged in connection with stealing money from multiple disabled clients, including veterans, federal prosecutors announced Thursday afternoon.
Philliann Barnett, 42, previously served time for similar offenses, including opening and using credit cards from a client with cerebral palsy in 2003 and identity theft from a woman with Alzheimer’s disease.
Barnett began using the alias of “Philliann Burke” in late August to apply to a company that worked with veterans receiving benefits from the Department of Veteran Affairs, prosecutors said.
In November 2020, Barnett allegedly forged and deposited a check from a disabled veteran.
