A heat advisory is in effect in Hartford County until 8 p.m. Monday as Connecticut enters its second day of a spring heat wave. Dozens of school systems are dismissing early.
The heat wave may last until Thursday, one day longer than originally forecast, because of the possibility of 90 temperatures stretching into Wednesday, the National Weather Service said early Monday. The heat advisory also is in effect in Tolland County.
Sunday was the first day of the heat wave — at least three consecutive days with temperatures that reach 90 degrees or higher.
