A Hartford woman died in a one-car crash Friday evening, police said, after the vehicle slammed into a utility pole and split in half.
Hartford police responded to the Flatbush Avenue crash scene just after 7:30 p.m. Friday, police said. They found a car that was “completely sheered in half” after apparently crashing into a utility pole.
They also found a 34-year-old woman, later identified as Hartford resident Liza Ramos, who had apparently been ejected from the car, police said. Ramos was declared dead by emergency responders.
According to witnesses, Ramos had been the passenger in the car and the male driver, after crashing the car, fled the scene on foot.
