A 55-year-old Hartford woman who police believe was just “at home, cooking and minding her business,” is dead after a shooting Wednesday evening.
The homicide occurred around 5 p.m., Lt. Aaron Boisvert said. Police were dispatched to Sisson Avenue after receiving several 911 calls of shots fired.
“At that point [officers] began to further canvass and located bullet holes in the building at 28 Sisson Avenue. They tried to make contact with the residents, but there was no answer on the first floor,” he said. “Believing that there could be somebody inside, hurt, they made entry into the apartment, to do what we call a protective sweep, and at that time they located a deceased female.
