A woman was seriously injured Monday when a thief ran her over with her own car in Hartford, police said.
The incident happened at 4:10 a.m., shortly after two officers visiting the Shell gas station convenience store at Capitol Avenue and Broad Street noticed a car running in the parking lot, Lt. Paul Cicero said. They told the owner she shouldn’t leave her keys in her car.
After the officers left the store, they heard on their radios a report of an incident during a car theft. Someone had jumped into an idling car in the parking lot and drove off, striking the owner, Cicero said.
