Hartford police: Snapchat sneaker deal goes bad in North End, officers make arrests, seize guns

Hartford police arrested two people and seized four guns Monday after an out-of-towner’s attempt to buy sneakers in the North End from someone he met on Snapchat turned into a gunpoint robbery.

The hold-up happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. at 447 Barbour St., police said. The out-of-towner, who was not identified by police, had arranged on the Snapchat app to buy sneakers at the address.

Patrol is the backbone of a police agency. Patrol officers safely make armed robbery (internet meet-up) arrests after foot chase; recover four unlawfully possessed firearms. More to follow.
