A man was arrested Sunday and charged with a deadly Halloween stabbing in Hartford’s South End, police said.
Oniel Lewis, 34, of Hartford was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder and is in custody on $1 million bail, they said Monday.
According to police, Lewis fatally stabbed Bryan Monroe, 48, of Lamplighter Drive in Manchester on Oct. 31. Officers found Monroe suffering from multiple stab wounds at 194 Maple Ave. He was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he died.
Detectives began building a case against Lewis based on information gathered by patrol officers, witness interviews and surveillance video, police said.
