HARTFORD — An anti-police phrase and “BLM” were spray painted on Hartford police headquarters this weekend, along with multiple police vehicles that were parked in a lot with a broken security gate.

It was not clear Sunday how long the entrance to the lot had been left open, but there was caution tape on both the access card reader and metal gate.

A gate into a Hartford Police Department parking lot appears to be broken. It was open and wrapped in caution tape Sunday, with several metal barriers pushed off to the side. Police on Sunday said police and civilian vehicles parked at the department were defaced with graffiti.
