Hartford police chased down four suspects and recovered three illegal handguns Wednesday after detectives spotted and tailed a green minivan involved in a shots fired incident over the weekend.
One of the weapons was reported stolen from Berlin and the serial numbers on the other two had been obliterated, Lt. Paul Cicero said Thursday. It turned out one of the men arrested also was wanted in an unrelated stolen vehicle case, he added.
All four men were charged with different combinations of four offenses, including possession of a stolen firearm and obliterating the guns' serial numbers, according to police records.
