A 23-year-old man was shot Friday evening on Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford, less than two blocks from where a man was killed in a gruesome hit-and-run crash the night before.
The man was shot in the leg around 7:40 p.m. near the C-Town Supermarket at 165 Wethersfield Avenue, Lt. Paul Cicero said. The man was transported to nearby Hartford Hospital and was alert and conscious, he said.
Major Crimes detectives secured the scene and continued to investigate late Friday. Further information about the shooting was not immediately available.
Footage of the scene posted on social media showed officers swarming the area around the C-Town and further south on Elliott Street, where officers stopped another vehicle.
