Hartford police are investigating after a man was shot in the hip Wednesday afternoon on Wethersfield Avenue next to the South Green.
Police received an alert just before 1:40 p.m. from the department’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system near 11 Wethersfield Avenue, Lt. Aaron Boisvert said.
Police located a crime scene there but no victim and learned a man was taken in a private vehicle to a nearby hospital for treatment, Boisvert said.
Major Crimes and Crime Scene division officers took over the investigation Wednesday afternoon but no other details about the incident were immediately available.
