A Hartford man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a New York man in his Yonkers apartment earlier this week.
Claismar Abreu-Then, 27, was taken into custody without incident Thursday by a coalition of Yonkers, Hartford and federal agents investigating the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Joseph Pichardo four days earlier, police announced.
Police have accused Abreu-Then of shooting Pichardo multiple times in the first-floor hallway of his Yonkers apartment building in what New York investigators described as “the fatal culmination of an on-going dispute between the two men.”
Abreu-Then fled the scene to his Franklin Avenue home in Hartford’s South End while Yonkers police obtained an arrest warrant and coordinated with Hartford detectives, prosecutors and the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Violent Crime and Gang Task Force, police said.
