Hartford HealthCare, the parent of Hartford Hospital and six others in the state, confirmed it is “reassessing” how it will pursue what was billed as a $24 million renovation and expansion into a downtown office complex.
The decision comes as the Hartford-based health system wrestles with losses as it provided health care in the pandemic. Those losses, the health system’s top executive has said, could run into several hundred million dollars.
