Hamden police arrested a Naugatuck man on charges that he struck and killed a man while driving a stolen car and then fled the scene.
Justin Thompson, 23, faces charges that include evading responsibility and third-degree larceny. Thompson also was charged with violating probation and was being held Monday on court-ordered bonds totaling $400,000, police said. He is to appear in court on Sept. 30.
On July 1,Thompson was driving one of two stolen cars that were reportedly speeding south down State Street in the northbound lane, police said.
The Toyota Corolla that Thompson was driving struck and killed Garrison Nieves, 21, of Hamden, who was northbound on a scooter in the area of 2390 State St.
