Guns seized from a Meriden house Thursday may be connected to recent violence in the area, a police official said Friday.
The guns were confiscated from a home at Round Hill Road, Lt. John Mennone said. He said it is unknown whether the guns were used in recent incidents during which guns were fired at seven occupied houses in the city; no one was injured in the shots-fired incidents, which happened over a 27-hour period Aug. 17 and 18.
Meriden, New Haven and Hartford are among the cities that have seen in increase in gun-related crimes in recent months.
