A 14-year-old local boy vandalized a monument to a local U.S. Marine who died in battle in Iraq, police said Friday.
The teen damaged the monument to Sgt. David Coullard several times, police said. Coullard was killed Aug. 1, 2005 by small-arms fire in Haditha, Iraq, with five others in a sniper team. He was 32 years old.
Most recently on Tuesday, three flags were ripped from posts, two benches were knocked over and the large granite monument bearing Coullard’s name was toppled and damaged.
