Police are seeking the public’s help after a monument to a U.S. Marine who was killed in action was torn apart.
Three flags were ripped from posts, two benches were knocked over and a large granite monument to Glastonbury native Sgt. David Coullard was toppled and damaged, police said Tuesday.
Coullard was killed Aug. 1, 2005 by small-arms fire in Haditha, Iraq, with five others in a sniper team. He was 32 years old. A childhood friend told The Courant that Coullard loved the military and was devoted to serving his country, particularly after the terrorist attacks of Sept.
