Always interested in improving the game's quality and appearance, the NCAA's Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved many rules adaptations for women's basketball that will be immediately implemented.
"What a great step forward for our game," said UConn coach Geno Auriemma. "As the game becomes more global, each year it's important that we start the process toward standardizing the rules. This is just the beginning of what I hope are many other changes to improve this great game."
At the forefront is one certain to be most noticed, splitting a game played in two 20-minute halves into four 10-minute quarters.
