Former UConn women’s soccer goalkeeper Emily Armstrong announced she signed with Icelandic soccer club IBV for the 2018 season in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, Iceland’s top women’s soccer league.
“I am excited to be part of IBV. The team competes in Iceland’s top division, Úrvalsdeild, and won the Icelandic Cup last season,” Armstrong said. “I look forward to helping IBV move ahead in 2018.”
The Collegeville, Pennsylvania native was a four-year starter with the Huskies after transferring from Boston College. Armstrong made 68 starts and played in 88 games total. She ranks third in program history with 288 career saves and ranks second with 28 shutouts.
