Former UConn women’s soccer goalkeeper Emily Armstrong will continue her professional career overseas in Norway. The Collegeville, Pennsylvania native signed with the Medkila IL club in the Toppserien, the top tier of Norwegian women’s soccer.
“I am looking forward to becoming part of [Medkila IL] in a few weeks,” Armstrong said on Instagram. “I am incredibly grateful for everyone along the way (coaches, family, friends, teammates) who helped to make this dream a reality!”
Armstrong had been playing with the Washington Spirit Reserves, a tier below the NWSL. Playing overseas gives her the opportunity to continue playing professionally and gain experience in a top-tier league.
