Five people were rushed to the hospital after a crash late Friday night on I-84 in Vernon, according to state police.
Driving westbound on the highway near exit 66, Franky Sanchez, 36, of Springfield, Mass. lost control of his Chevy Malibu and read-ended a Nissan Xterra so hard it rolled over. Two occupants of the Nissan, a 42-year-old man and 40-year-old woman, were ejected from the car and sustained serious physical injuries. They were both transported to Hartford Hospital.
State Police Troop C officers responded to the incident around 11:32 p.m., where they arrested Sanchez for driving under the influence.
