Firefighters rescue resident during two-alarm fire in Hartford

More than a dozen adults and four children were displaced after the two-alarm fire at 23-25 Bond St., Capt. Mario Oquendo said Monday. No one was injured, although one resident was taken to Hartford Hospital because of an ongoing medical problem.

Firefighters were called to the six-unit apartment building about 9:50 p.m. The fire burned mostly in the back of the three-story, brick structure.

At least 17 people – 13 adults and four children – were displaced, although the number may climb, Oquendo said. The fire department’s Special Services Unit worked with the American Red Cross to help the families.
