Parts of Connecticut will experience a perfect storm of weather conditions Tuesday that would allow flames to spread: dry weather, low humidity and wind.
The National Weather Service issued an early-morning alert about the conditions. Northwest winds are expected to gust up to 20 mph.
“These forecast conditions suggest an elevated fire weather potential, particularly from late morning through the afternoon,” weather service meteorologists said. “Use caution if handling any potential ignition sources, including machinery, cigarettes and matches.”
The dry weather is expected to continue throughout the rest of the week, with sunny or party sunny days in the forecast and temperatures in the 60s, they said.
