A lodge at a former Colchester resort was reduced to smoldering rubble Wednesday morning after an intense fire that started about 24 hours earlier.
No one was injured in the fire at the vacant Lincoln Lake Lodge, which was reported about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fire burned for hours, sending up a column of smoke that could be seen for miles.
Firefighters were called back to the sprawling Levy Road property about midnight to douse flare ups, Interim Fire Chief Sean Shoemaker said.
