In a unique mid-week matinee, the UConn women’s basketball team rolled over the shorthanded Memphis Tigers, 93-26.
After missing the last game with an ankle injury, Katie Lou Samuelson returned to the lineup and did not appear to be hampered by the injury. She moved well and scored 17 points despite hitting just one of her five three-point attempts.
Memphis landed an early punch, jumping ahead to a 10-6 lead. However, the Tigers — with only six healthy players — could only hang on against the high-powered Huskies for so long.
UConn scored seven straight points to take the lead going into the first media timeout and that was only the start of the Tigers’ downfall.
