The UConn women officially clinched the American regular season championship with another convincing fashion conference win over SMU, 88-41. It is the Huskies' third straight regular season title, and their 21st overall.
Moriah Jefferson continued her climb up the UConn scoring list, passing Chris Gedney for 25th all-time in the first quarter and then moving past Peggy Walsh for 24th in the second quarter. With Jefferson, Breanna Stewart and Morgan Tuck, the trio became the first group of Huskies to combine for 5,000 career points.
While the team leaders were busy racking up the career accolades, freshman Katie Lou Samuelson led the team in scoring.
