Kevin Ollie’s squad made the trip to Orlando to meet UCF in the teams’ second and final meeting of the season. The Huskies prevailed, 66-63, and have now won five of their last six contests.
The game had an ugly beginning, with UConn getting the scoring started a modest 3:30 into the game and UCF waiting until 13:47 left to get its first points. Despite the rough start, UConn finished the evening with a 44.2% shooting percentage, going 9-of-13 (69.2%) from behind the arc.
The Huskies fell behind by seven early on but then rode a 13-3 run over four minutes to charge ahead in a back-and-forth start to the first half.
