(STATS) - Near misses against FBS opponents can't be sitting well with Villanova coach Andy Talley.
The No. 4 Wildcats were snake-bitten to open the season again Thursday night, falling to Connecticut 20-15 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
The loss was Villanova's sixth straight against a major college program - and the third time by seven or fewer points - since it defeated Temple 27-24 in 2009. Talley, in his 31st season with the Wildcats, is 3-17 all-time against the FBS.
