Crews from Eversource are continuing tree work across Connecticut, taking down or trimming back trees that threaten the electricity infrastructure after recent storms caused hundreds of thousands of outages, the company said Monday.
Eversource officials said Tropical Storm Isaias and a microburst in southern Connecticut in August took down more than 10,000 trees, which in turn severed power lines.
During Tropical Storm Isaias, Eversource reported more than 800,000 outages, driven in large part by tree damage.
“Trees are the number one cause of power outages and removing these trees is critical, especially with fierce storms happening more frequently.
