Ellington First Selectwoman Lori Spielman is under fire over a Facebook post that some residents labeled blatantly racist.
The meme Spielman posted on her personal page over the weekend showed two photos _ one of white people bailing hay and below that, Black people looting a store. Under the farming picture, the caption was, “If they did this during the day,” and under the looting photo, “They wouldn’t do this at night.”
“My posting of bailing hay,” she wrote, “was more about if people got outside and worked instead of focusing on everything else, but good days work never hurt anybody.
