STRATFORD — Once again, it was a wild one.
Last year, it took 15 innings for the Southington softball team to win its second consecutive Class LL title.
This year, the Blue Knights did it in dramatic fashion, winning in the bottom of the seventh after rallying from a four-run deficit to capture a third straight championship, 5-4 over Cheshire in the Class LL final Saturday at DeLuca Field.
"At least it was one game, not two-plus," joked coach Davina Hernandez, who has never lost a game in two years as Southington's head coach.
