If you have received a mysterious, small package of seeds in the mail, state officials say to hold onto the package and not to put the seeds in soil.
As part of an apparently widespread new concern, these packages, that appear to come with Chinese writing, have appeared in mailboxes across Connecticut and throughout a number of states.
It is unclear to state agriculture officials what the seeds are and pictures provided by a number of agencies appear to show a variety of different seeds in small plastic packages.
Officials in Connecticut warned against planting the seeds, which could stem from an invasive species that could pose problems to the ecosystem.
