Dixwell Avenue in Hamden will be closed between the 1500 and 1600 blocks for several hours following reports of a pedestrian struck around 6 p.m., local officers announced Thursday night.
The pedestrian suffered “serious, life threatening injuries” and was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, said Hamden police, who asked residents to use alternative routes.
Officers did not immediately provide more details about the pedestrian, their current state or what they were struck with, but added that police will continue to keep the public updated as they learn more information.
