STORRS — Sean McQuillan is no longer a member of the UConn football program, head coach Bob Diaco told reporters Friday.
Diaco made the announcement before the second annual Women's 101 Football Clinic.
Diaco said earlier this week, McQuillan, a Glastonbury native who attended Avon Old Farms, was in the midst of appealing a disciplinary action by the school following an April arrest for fighting with his roommate for which he faces felony assault charges.
"We're without Sean McQuillan," Diaco said. "I just got that word. Sean will be a graduate of the university and move on.
