As COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths rise across the state, Connecticut hospitals are beginning to reinstate the types of severe visitor restrictions that they put in place during the first wave of the pandemic this spring.
UConn Health on Monday became the latest hospital to entirely ban visitors “except in specific circumstances,” according to an announcement posted on the hospital’s website.
“Due to rising COVID-19 cases in the community, we have returned to a No Visitor level of restriction,” the announcement says. “While we will do our best to compassionately accommodate exceptions where possible, safety is our first priority.
