Connecticut on Wednesday reported a daily positivity rate back below 3%, which has led to a continued drop in the weekly rate, as hospitalizations remain flat.
The state on Wednesday reported 856 newly identified coronavirus cases out of 30,454 tests administered, for a daily positivity rate of 2.8%. With lower daily rates now replacing the higher daily rates seen more than a week ago, Connecticut’s weekly average positivity rate has been falling.
That drop continued on Wednesday, with the weekly rate dipping to 2.6%. During the winter wave of the pandemic, Connecticut’s weekly rate hit a peak of more than 7% in mid-January.
