Connecticut will no longer require fully vaccinated residents to wear masks outdoors or in most indoor spaces beginning May 19 -- the same day most COVID-related restrictions in the state are lifted, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday afternoon.
However, there will be some exceptions to that rule — even vaccinated people will still be required to wear masks in high-risk spaces such as nursing homes and schools, according to the state’s chief operating officer Josh Geballe. Those rules will be finalized by the state in the coming days, he said.
“There will be some environments and locations where masking will still be required for vaccinated people as well,” Geballe said.
