Connecticut’s coronavirus hospitalizations dropped on Wednesday even as its positivity rate rose — the inverse of the previous day’s numbers and a sign that the state’s coronavirus metrics are flattening.
On Wednesday, Connecticut reported that hospitalizations dropped by 27, undoing the previous day’s rise, for a total of 518 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
The state on Wednesday also reported 1,609 newly identified coronavirus cases out of 36,502 tests administered, for a daily positivity rate of 4.4%.
The daily positivity rate fluctuates from one day to the next, but the weekly average rate offers a more stable view.
