After reporting zero new coroanvirus-related deaths on Tuesday, Connecticut on Wednesday reported six new deaths, bringing the state’s total to 4,450 since the pandemic began.
The state also reported a drop in hospitalizations Wednesday; that number declined by 12, for a total of 58 patients currently hospitalized for COVID-19.
The state’s count of hospitalizations, like most data points, fluctuates from one day to the next. But hospitalizations have stayed between the mid-50s and low-70s since mid-July. That’s down from a peak of nearly 2,000 hospitalized patients in mid- to late-April.
Connecticut on Wednesday also reported 22 new coronavirus cases, for a total of 50,706 since the beginning of the pandemic.
