Connecticut on Friday surpassed a grim threshold — the state has now recorded more than 100,000 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
And as COVID-19 rears its head for the second time this year, the state is continuing to report an increasing number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
The state on Friday reported 2,088 newly identified COVID-19 cases, for a total of 101,469 since March. Despite that milestone, though, experts have warned that the actual number of cases has likely been much higher, particularly due to the lack of widespread testing in the early months of the pandemic.
