Connecticut on Wednesday logged a positive coronavirus test rate of 7.6% — marking the second consecutive day of notably high rates, in what medical experts say is likely the beginning of the post-Thanksgiving COVID-19 surge.
The state on Wednesday reported 2,290 newly identified coronavirus cases, out of a total of 30,287 tests administered.
Wednesday’s rate comes after a jump in positivity on Tuesday, when the state reported a rate of 8.6%, which was the highest the state has seen since May.
Also on Wednesday, the state recorded 43 additional coronavirus-linked deaths — which is, in one day, the same number of deaths that Connecticut reported in the entire month of September.
