Connecticut on Wednesday reported 79 new coronavirus cases, along with 384 cases that were newly reported to the state but stemmed from as far back as April. In total, the state has now seen 49,540 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to state data.
The state’s positivity rate dipped on Wednesday — the 79 new cases were identified out of a total of 12,367 new tests, for a positivity rate of about 0.6%. That’s about half of the state’s Tuesday positivity rate, which was about 1.2%.
Connecticut’s positivity rate has hovered around 1% for a number of weeks, but has often dropped well below that threshold.
