The state’s Criminal Justice Commission Thursday plans to interview two finalists and then nominate Connecticut’s first inspector general, a key position responsible for investigating police killings that was created with the recent passage of a sweeping police accountability bill.
The commission is also expected to appoint a new state’s attorney in the Hartford Judicial District after Gail P. Hardy withdrew her name from consideration for reappointment in June amid criticism of her handling of deadly police use of force investigations.
Two candidates are under consideration for the position of inspector general. The finalists are New Britain State’s Attorney Brian Preleski and Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney C.
